    Future Personal Mobility

       Problem

Significantly increased number of vehicles in the megacities of China in the future

Pollution of all kinds: Environmental, Visual, Noise

· Today inner-city transportation is primarily dependent on fossil fuels. *
Larger cities in China and around the world need smaller personal vehicles that have less impact on the environment.

· Smaller vehicles still need to provide our customers with personal space, but in big, congested cities size does matter. The correct size of vehicle could greatly improve everyone's ability to move freely and comfortably around the city. Think about the minimum package needed for city life.

· This vehicle needs to offer the conveniences that our customers have grown to expect. The challenge is how to meet these expectations in a mass-produced vehicle that will suit the specific requirements of life in a big city.

         Vision

Cities are growing daily as people move from rural to urban areas. Larger cites require more vehicles in an already- defined footprint. Giving the public an opportunity to have personal transport in a responsible and sustainable way is the challenge. There will be many people using public transport in new ways, all walking and driving in a small area. People will move in and out of cities differently, and may even have different vehicles to do this. What is the future going to look like and how will the vehicles of the future change to meet the changing needs of the public?

Public transport will be more efficient in the future.
The need for personal vehicles, however, will not go away.
The need will be for --- insert your creative thoughts and future perspective here ---

Requirement This vehicle will need to:

– Provide seating for a couple (two people).
– Be sized to fit everyday urban situations. The specifics of who the customer is can be defined by you.
– Be maneuverable and store easily in congested cities (eg Shanghai).
– Run on sustainable energy sources and have a minimal carbon footprint – through both lightweight materials/ architecture and low emissions.
– Offer convenience and safety in all weather conditions.
– Present a new, integrated personal transportation solution that focuses on efficient use of space and clearly shows the thinking behind it.
– Be branded as a Buick, Chevrolet or Cadillac.

Time frame: 2030 – but no flying cars…
